Sew... I just couldn't wait until TJ's nap tomorrow. The girls and I had their 1st sewing hour tonight! Although, they didn't sew. We just worked on cutting out all the fabric for their purses. We're just making the smaller market bag. I thought that would be simple enough. I measured and they cut.
Here they are being silly and acting like they are falling asleep waiting on me to measure!
And here they are each cutting!
I have 2 Camp Rock fabrics, and 2 High School Musical fabrics. They choose to make their bags reversible like I did mine- and to use all 4 fabrics. And we found in my collection, a cute black fabric with little pink hearts to use for the top and straps! Hopefully tomorrow they'll get some time to sew a little. I explained to them that this could take a several weeks as we are just going to do a little at a time each weekend. They weren't so thrilled about that part.
Should I start a separate blog for the girls sewing???? I'm torn on this.
cool! and no to the separate blog. too much to keep up with for yourself and others.
ReplyDeleteWeeks sound like forever when you're young but if you keep it interesting for them they won't mind. I can't wait to see their finished bags.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Sorry I don't have an opinion on 1 blog vs 2 blogs. Your girls are well behaved hopefully they won't drive you crazy wanting to sew so they can finish the bag, but if they do is that such a horrible thing? I'm sure you gave them the speach... Sewing can be addicting! hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I can't wait to see the bags. I think it's fun to have their crafts intertwined with yours. You are teaching them your craft after all.
ReplyDeleteI'm reliving my early sewing days with my Mom as I read your blog... and that was more than 50 years ago. I think it's great you are teaching them how to sew and be creative. It will open a whole new world for them. Little kids love to knit and crochet, too!
