Christmas

Well, my blog is up and running and looking beautiful, in my opinion. I'm very happy (see previous post). Haven't gotten my new logo setup with my FB page yet, but I'm not going to let that stop me from posting anymore.

Tomorrow is Christmas. I'm so ready. Not ready for the fact that we will be one day closer to having to take down all the decorations. I decorate on November 13th each year. It's my birthday, and I use that as my excuse to decorate early. I absolutely adore Christmas decorations. My husband and I usually sleep on the couch from the time the tree is up, until it's down. Because I love falling asleep praying as I'm watching the lights on the tree. They just remind me how much I have to be thankful for.

And somewhere down that list, is my love of crafts. And ability to learn them. Which leads me to the craft I'll post today. Our stocking holder broke several years ago and I've hot glued it many times because I really liked it. But this year, even my trusty hot glue couldn't save it. So I searched online and found a lot of inspiration. I went to Home Depot, got piece of wood, some wooden drawer pulls, and some wood trim (I think it's door trim?) and got to work. Several different colors of spray paint, and some help from my Cameo, and here it is (sorry, phone pic)! I'm VERY pleased. :)
I am disappointed that I didn't make as many things as I wanted to this year. One main one was something inspired by my Granny. I miss her so much. Every Christmas growing up, I remember she would wear this cute pin that simply said "Jesus is the reason for the season". Honestly, it's the first Christmas decoration I really remember. Before the lights, the trees, ect. I remember that pin. It was so simple, and cute, and probably cost a measly $5 or less. But to my little eyes, it was so much more. It was different. My Granny knew how much I liked that pin. And when she felt I was old enough, she gave it to me. I've kept it put up for years in fear of something happening to it. This year, I came up with an idea to make something less fragile with the saying. But it's Christmas Eve, and I've not finished it. I will though. And since my decorations stay out until at least New Years Day, I'll still get to enjoy it for a few days! Merry Christmas everyone!
