Make It Monday

Well, I started today with a migraine. The kids played in the water on the trampoline for a couple of hours while I rested. Rob has been miserable over a week now with pain from the herniated disc in his neck- he finally sees the doctor again tomorrow! So the day started pretty blah. By 1:30my head was mostly better, we had lunch, watched some tv, and then TJ went for his Legos and the girls got out the yarns they had picked out and got started on their blankets! Demi has got the pattern down now and only needs my help when she's ready to change colors. I just taught Lexi the stitches and pattern today and even though she was frustrated at first, she figured it out super fast! She still asked me to check her stitches and pattern several times, but she's figuring it out quick. I'm so glad they are enjoying!

We ended the night with a little more tv, and Demi having a headache. :( She curled up with Rob and next thing I find is TJ crashed on him too! Other than the physical pains, what a blessed day!

My Demi has gotten the hang of it! She's working on a blanket for herself. Finished her skein of yarn tonight! We will have to get another ASAP. And Lexi asked tonight if I would teach her again! :)

It's been pretty crafty in my house lately. Here's one thing I made recently. I'm still working on a 2nd piece to go with it.

I got a wild hair yesterday and made a trash bag for my car. It was super easy and quick, and it's reversible. I made it with things I already had, so no going out to buy anything new for it, either! For the inside, I cut to size a sheet of plastic cross stitch material, then stitched two of it's sides together with yarn. It helps hold the bag open, and holds a plastic bag inside for quick and easy disposal! I will likely go back and trim the strap on it though, it hangs lower than I'd like.

I love finally knowing how to French braid! I keep experimenting with different styles and have even managed a waterfall style!

I need more practice, but I'm enjoying and I am just so thrilled!

Bread. More specifically, jalapeño cheese bread. Yummy. 

We eat a lot of sandwiches here. It's our lunch staple. And I make quite a bit of our sandwich bread. Fresh baked bread is definitely in the top 5 of favorite smells for me also. Amazing.

Jesse Tree

The kids and I are doing The Advent Jesse Tree this year. As it's out first year to do it, we didn't have any ornaments for it, so I decided to make them. Then I procrastinated, as usual, then followed that up with getting sick. Ugh. 

So here we are, December 9th, and we are just starting. The devotions are short, which makes it easier to double up for a bit until we can get caught up. I made the first 2 ornaments tonight. I found a blog that I pinned with some great little felt ornaments which I'm using slightly as my guide. Only, their days/symbols don't all match up, but it was exactly what I needed to get started!

We've had a really busy weekend and a really busy day today. I've not made anything, but over these few days it looks like I'm going to need to find something to make using acorns...

My daughters made me a Spiderman keychain with their Rainbow Loom! :) As if it's not cool enough just because it's Spiderman- there's a bonus. His arms and legs will hold their position- like when the keys have been in my pocket, sometimes he comes out in different silly poses. Unless I stretch them out, they hold that way until the next time. We've gotten a laugh out of him several times already.

My new bookmark. Really easy, and I really enjoyed it. One of those crafts you can make while watching a movie. Easy, quick, and I like it!

My oldest daughter's team asked me to make helmet stickers and glove/bat holder stickers for the organization (3 teams). They paid for the vinyl, but that's it. I really enjoy it, and hey, that's a benefit I'll offer for my kids' organizations!

I've managed to forget, yet again, to get a pic of the numbers I did for the back of the helmets. 

For the front, I did the DeMarini logo in a red glittered vinyl. 

For the racks, I did the logo in red, then each girl's name and number in a silver glittered vinyl.

I also made bag tags for both my daughters and the oldest one's team. I'm still trying to secure a few more plastic softballs to make them for the middle one's team. I was trying to come up with something cheap and super fast for them, and found these softballs 2 for 99 cents mixed in with all the mum supplies at Michaels. Added names on the front, numbers on the back, and some black cording, and they were done! Super cheap, super fast, easy to see on the bags, and still cute. :)

So my oldest daughter's team has asked me to out my cameo to use and make numbers for all the girls helmets in the organization- 3 teams. And the logo for the fronts. I did my daughter's teams numbers tonight, since I knew theirs. And I did a sample logo, to see what the coaches thought. Only, I forgot to get a picture of it on the helmet! (And am too tired to go get it now!) All 3 teams have to agree, but her team really likes it! 

I didn't design it, they are a sponsored team, so this is that logo. I like the way it turned out with the glittered vinyl. I knew they wanted red, but the red I have on hand is more maroon. Then I saw the glittered vinyl and decided to try it.

I haven't had a chance to make much lately. :( I definitely hope to change that very soon. We are in the middle of learning to juggle having our girls on 2 different teams now. As well as homeschooling, and chalking fields for the local league, and making schedules and handling paperwork for the local league. It's been a bit crazy, but we are getting through it! Once all the paperwork is handled, I'll be able to use my free time for crafting again! And I definitely have a very long list of things I want to make!

Been a busy, catch up on laundry and cleaning kind of day. And I'm trying for an early night.
