Scrappy Saturday

The majority of our day today was spent outside cheering on my middle child and her softball team. About 20 minutes into her 1st game, the wind blew, temperature dropped about 20 degrees instantly. I've experienced the super quick, 5 minute, drop 20 degrees several times. But this, this was literally instant. Like we walked through a wall. It was really awesome to experience. 

The rain came with it though. In the end, her team only played (and won!) 2 games and the entire tournament was cancelled. Boo. She had an absolute blast though.

So... No working on my PL, yet again. But we know there will be no softball tomorrow, so I'm thinking I'll sit down between morning and evening services and work on it some more. For now- I'm going to do a "Currently" post that I will type/print/whatever and add to PL for this week/month.

Watching- Halloween Wars. It's amazing. Hubby discovered it and the kids and I got home and next thing, we were all hooked. It is absolutely amazing to see what can be made with some imagination, cake, pumpkins, candy, sugar, rice crispies, and other edible items! It's all based on scary creations, but it's way cool.

Reading- Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream

This book is fantastic. Huge eye opener, and potential life changer, or should I say world changer?

Listening- At this exact moment- hubby and I are watching Baylor annihilate West Virginia U. So that's what I'm listening to! 

We are a Longhorns family, but we also enjoy watching and cheering on some of our fine state's other schools. :)

Making- Memories. So much wonderful time with my kiddos and hubby. It's been so great! 

Feeling- Blessed. And exhausted. Definitely blessed and exhausted.

Planning- Little Man's 6th birthday. I cannot believe he is turning 6. We aren't planning anything big at all. Not even a party, but he does have a couple friends he wants a play date with, and he wants to go play mini golf!

Loving- Life. And this weather. It did hit me earlier being wet and in the cold, with short sleeves and no jacket or blanket. But I do love the cold!

Scrappy Saturday

I finally found time to craft today. Although, I got so caught up working on one thing, that by the time I got to working on PL, I only managed to complete one page. But at least I got that one done!! I'm officially finished putting the pics from our big family photo shoot in! :) Well, maybe not 100% done, one I need another print of, so I just scanned and printed a copy to hold the spot for now.

Really enjoyed all my crafting today! And I am excited to share what I worked on most of my day, but it will have to wait until next Monday.

Well..

Thanks to my ridiculous lack of sleep last night, and a full day at the softball fields, I'm pretty sure I won't be getting to my PL pages tonight. I just want to sleep so I can get us up and to church in the morning, then back to the fields for more softball! It's going to be a very softball heavy fall. I'm very excited, but also hating that I can't plan to visit family so well because of it. With the girls on different teams now, it's gotten really crazy. 

Let's see... We have this weekend and next weekend, then 2 weekends off, then 2 weekends on, then 1 off, then 7 on, then 1 off, then 1 on. That takes us from now through mid- December when the tournaments pretty much stop until February. It's gonna be crazy!

It has been a highly frustrating day. I wasn't able to complete one thing on my to do list. I have literally spent 14 hours on one task, and still haven't finished it. Furious. And throwing up my hands for the night. 

On a happier note, my girls have started doing some doodling. I've started a pinterest board for them of different doodles to try out and mix together however they want. I gave them some blank index cards and told them some of those doodles should be put in our PL book. Here's the first one from Demi!

Okay. I'm updating now with more pictures. I managed to do 6 pages last night from our big family photo session back in February. And, I still have one more page to do, but I am a couple prints short at the moment. So for now, here are the ones I completed. I really love these pictures.

Project Life- 1st 1/2 of February 2013

I've been working on February for a few weeks now. I've had pages to show but life has been getting in the way of me actually getting the pics on here. I did a couple more pages today, so here goes!

definitely plan to use more FB posts- really like how it turned out.

Used a full page insert and cut the cards and then placed back vertically instead of horizontal.

I promise he's still breathing. He fell asleep like that a couple times...

Make It Monday

Been a busy, catch up on laundry and cleaning kind of day. And I'm trying for an early night.

I have some things to post, but I can't quite yet as I don't want them seen before they're given.  So for now- I got a pic of one of the last car decals I made- now on the car!

So today, I worked on some shirts. I'm really enjoying playing around with my cameo more and am surprised already by some of the things it can do. It's really a shame I've not tapped into its full potential yet and have had it well over a year! 

I spent a lot of time on the shirts, so now I'm exhausted and haven't started my PL yet. I really want to get February complete before the end of next weekend. Hopefully I can find some time tomorrow to work on a page, or 4!

Project Life- January 2013

I've finished a month! I'm so excited. I sat down today and busted out the remaining 3 weeks of January, and a special 2 sided page from Demi's 9th Birthday party! :)

I had a lot of fun with these, though I did use a lot of the same papers in them. I just want to bust out as much as I can since I'm so far behind. I am SO pleased to have the first month complete. (Of course, it's now about to be August, so I'll still be 7 months behind, technically!)

Project Life 2013- Week 1

I've had a wonderful week. I've hardly had a chance to sit still but I've been wanting to sit down and complete a week on my PL book. I'm determined to at least do 1 week per week. Clearly, I need to do way more than 1 each week, as it's halfway through July and I've just begun...

Well, I finally forced myself to sit down and complete week 1. It was rushed. And most of the first half of 2013 will be done via Instagram pics so I'm trying to find creative ways to display them. I'm sure it could be better, but I'm happy. It's about the memories, right? For me, I want my family to sit down and look through the year come New Years Eve/New Years Day each year. So this page may not be as "cute" as I'd prefer, but I do like it. And I also know that as I make each week, I'll gain more experience and knowledge. I'll bust them out faster. And cuter!

Scrappy Saturday- Project Life 2013 Title Page

I finally have an actual completed page! Our 2013 title page is complete! And I have all my prints through the first week of July, so I will be working hard to get Jan-June completed before another 6 months go by...

Here's my table covered with all the pictures and everything else I have for the first half of this year. Pretty sure I have over 450 pics...

Honestly... I feel a little blah about it. I mean, I do really like it. But the "Crandall" didn't turn out the way I wanted. It's a little too much blue for me. But I couldn't come up with a fix I liked more, and my kids all loved it, so it's a keeper. :)

Nothing to show yet! Still working on those resizes. I vow not to get behind like this again. And to go ahead and print my pics from January and start making those pages now, while still working on resizes. I don't think I'll ever catch up if I don't start putting some together. Putting them together will motivate me to get moving faster on this, right?!

I love freebies. There are always people designing and offering freebies for PL. I have so many that I plan to use. And thanks to my friend Cerise, over at Craft Cherry, I've got a new freebie I love (at least when I got it, it was free, not sure if it's only free for a limited time.). It's an app called Skitch. I'm not a pro with it by any means, but I know that I can write whatever I want, not type, but write- as in my very own insanely messy handwriting, then save it and email it to myself. Then, I can send it to my trusty Cameo to cut! Oh I will totally be using this for PL. You better believe my kiddos will get their turn on making some too! :)
