Make it Monday

Today, I made 5 car decals. 1 for my big sis, and 4 for an order. I will get a picture of them in action once they are installed! I also made a little installation instruction sheet to send with them.

I'm really hoping to turn this into a side business and am working on getting everything together, getting my facebook page updated, and once all is ready- running a promotion that will give someone a freebie, and me more potential customers!

I had a request from someone wanting to see some of the other decals I've done, and since I need to gather all my images (not like there are many...) here goes!

Penguin for my lil sis and Demon Hunters logo for her boyfriend.

My car. Not the best pic. Paw prints are the same as below, just used our nicknames instead on it. And added the large softball on the upper right corner.

Project Life- January 2013

I've finished a month! I'm so excited. I sat down today and busted out the remaining 3 weeks of January, and a special 2 sided page from Demi's 9th Birthday party! :)

I had a lot of fun with these, though I did use a lot of the same papers in them. I just want to bust out as much as I can since I'm so far behind. I am SO pleased to have the first month complete. (Of course, it's now about to be August, so I'll still be 7 months behind, technically!)

Five Things Friday

I've struggled the last couple weeks with starting my list on Fridays. What to write about? 5 things... Hmmm...

So I sit at my laptop thinking about all the possibilities while my sweet Dink takes my favorite bath in front of me.
You know, the bath where they reach all the way behind their ears making sure to clean their face real good on the way back?
Yep... That one. I can't resist it. For as long as I can remember I've been that way. I can literally sit and watch a cat take that face bath for 10 minutes straight. It's adorable. Big kitty, little kitty, it doesn't matter. Kitten falling over on their first attempt. It just never gets old.

So, since Dink hijacked my brain with his cuteness, I leave you with 5 things I love about cats.

1. Cute!
2. Soft...
3. I love their personalities. Even when I'm busy hating them for not wanting to snuggle when I want to! :)
4.Kitty lickings! If you get a kitty that will lick your hand when you pet it every once in a while- it's special. Cats don't go around licking the hands of every person they meet like many dogs do. So when a kitty licks you, it's legit. You are loved.
5. Puurrrrrrrr.

Seriously, I'm having a super hard time stopping there. There are SO many more reasons. I may have to revisit this and post 5 more reasons later this year!

My current cuddly loves.

Teaching Thursday

I planned to school through the summer, but my husband wasn't happy with the idea. So I've kinda done a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off deal so far. Right now, we're at the end of 2 weeks off. And I'm thinking we won't start again until late August. Or better yet, after Labor Day. However, I am in total preparation mode. I don't know how exactly, but it just happened. The reason I don't want to do 2 more weeks on right now is I want to keep prepping. I want to be more purposeful this upcoming year.

We pulled our daughters from public school before school started last year, and started homeschooling them and their younger brother. So we've got a (school) year of experience now. I want a stricter schedule this year. But a more forgiving one as well... Trust me, it makes sense to me. There are certain things that I've tried that just do not work for them. And there are others that they really enjoy and we need much more of!

So I have my new planner, a wonderful friend with several years of experience to lean on for advice, my own year of experience, a couple library cards, and the internet. Let the planning begin!

My Happy List Tuesday

 photo ArtatHomeButton_zps18898da7.jpg

Today... My husband and I chalked 6 fields. In the Texas heat. It was awful. And I assure you that's an understatement.

Tonight, our All Stars rocked it again and won both games! 7-2 & 12-3. I really enjoy watching these girls play!

Also, I have been considering trying to being a little money in with my crafts. I've not actually started anything yet, but somehow I still managed to get an order. I made my little sis and her boyfriend some car decals using my trusty cameo, and next thing I know, I'm getting a request from a friend of theirs (and mine), for not 1, but 4 personalized decals! I am kinda hoping to keep this going. I just want it to be simple though... I mean, I'm a homeschooling momma with year round ball playing kids- I don't want to take time away from my family- but I would like to have a small income from it. Even if it only paid for all my personal craft projects! :)

I'll be linking up this post with My Happy List tomorrow. I'm a little too tired tonight.

Make it Monday

Yesterday we went to my parents for lunch and to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday! I had this project planned for quite a while, and finally was able to finish it and give it to him. My cameo comes through for me, yet again!

And sorry in advance for the bad picture... I was in a hurry and snapped without really checking. Nice bright spot right in the middle. Ugh.

Project Life 2013- Week 1

I've had a wonderful week. I've hardly had a chance to sit still but I've been wanting to sit down and complete a week on my PL book. I'm determined to at least do 1 week per week. Clearly, I need to do way more than 1 each week, as it's halfway through July and I've just begun...

Well, I finally forced myself to sit down and complete week 1. It was rushed. And most of the first half of 2013 will be done via Instagram pics so I'm trying to find creative ways to display them. I'm sure it could be better, but I'm happy. It's about the memories, right? For me, I want my family to sit down and look through the year come New Years Eve/New Years Day each year. So this page may not be as "cute" as I'd prefer, but I do like it. And I also know that as I make each week, I'll gain more experience and knowledge. I'll bust them out faster. And cuter!

Five Things Friday

It's been such a fantastic week, I'm really not sure how I could possibly narrow it down to only 5 things.

1. Spontaneous road trip with my big sister and our boys to visit our little sister and our daughters at church camp. Greatness. :)

2. My daughters are home from camp safely!

3. Rain.

4. Spontaneous trip to the movies to see Despicable Me 2, to start the week!

5. My husband's bff is in town. We only see him a couple times a year and when the two of them get together, it's endless laughs for everyone around! :)

New Link Up!

My bff over at Craft Cherry is co-hosting a new link up! Posts are typically set for Sunday, but I'm behind. As usual.

This week's theme is self-portraits. Not my favorite theme... But I do like this pic I took a few days ago with my phone!

My Happy List- Er... Thursday?

I totally did it again.... I was in a super big hurry Tuesday to get a post up and keep my streak going and forgot that Tuesday is for My Happy List, and Thursday is supposed to be Teaching Thursday... What can I say- I have moments...

So I'm linking to My Happy List today.

It's been a really wonderful summer so far. Right now, my daughters are at church camp. The same camp I went to many years. (I believe the last time I went, I was 16.) So much has changed. My little sister has been going to this same camp for 10 years now too. She is there as a counselor again this year with my girls and my niece.

So... the last 2 years my older sister and I have loaded our girls on the bus, watched them leave, then hopped in one of our cars and talked... about driving up there ourselves for one day during the week. But we never do.

This year, same thing. Only, my mom called in the middle of our talk, and started giving us the name of a cheap B&B across the street from the camp. And then mentioned the small hotel at the camp. Next thing I know, we called and had a room booked at the camp and were planning who's car we'd take and what time we'd head that way!
Our girls and little sister were all very surprised and we had a great time! Seriously, it was over entirely too fast! We got to see my girls sing with their church choir in front of the whole camp, and then they had a a Gallagher style message the night we stayed.

Our boys had a blast too. Pretty sure I want to be there the entire week next year! And... I'm ready for my girls to come home tomorrow!

I'm thinking that spontaneous trip was more than enough happy for this week's happy list! :)

Teaching Tuesday

I am hoping to have a really special (at least to me) post tonight... But there's a chance I won't make the deadline to keep my streak going- so for now, enjoy a pic of my girls on the bus yesterday morning heading to church camp! :)

Make It Monday

It's been a busy weekend, and this morning I loaded my daughters on the church bus headed to camp for the week. I am so excited for them. I have so many great memories from camp myself, many from the same camp they are at right now! Though I know so much has changed since I was a camper. Like the fact that they have a/c in the cabins and chapel now!

I did spend a little time making hair ties for them, my sisters, my niece, and myself. 60 total. They are so cute, so easy (and quick) to make, and so cheap! I didn't get an after pic of  them all though...

Scrappy Saturday- Project Life 2013 Title Page

I finally have an actual completed page! Our 2013 title page is complete! And I have all my prints through the first week of July, so I will be working hard to get Jan-June completed before another 6 months go by...

Here's my table covered with all the pictures and everything else I have for the first half of this year. Pretty sure I have over 450 pics...

And here is our title page!

Honestly... I feel a little blah about it. I mean, I do really like it. But the "Crandall" didn't turn out the way I wanted. It's a little too much blue for me. But I couldn't come up with a fix I liked more, and my kids all loved it, so it's a keeper. :)

Five Things Friday

1. I'm so excited for tomorrow's post!!!

2. We've had another really fun week. We had a guest most of the week and everyone enjoyed!

3. Our softball team rocked it Tuesday night!

4. So happy my girls will be at church camp next week! I'll miss them like crazy, but I know how good it is for them, and how special it is. I have so many wonderful memories from church camp myself!

5. I'm really looking forward to some one on one time with my little man. As we made the switch to homeschooling, TJ and I went from hours of just the two of us each day, to practically no time that way. He's been making plans for us all week! And... So have I! :)

Teaching Thursday

The kids have been playing around with one of our cameras lately. It's sparked an idea. There are many monthly photo challenges out there... I'm going to have each of the kids do one. But I'm going to have to mix it up so they don't all want to do the same things.. Maybe one a week instead of every day... I'm still thinking on it. Essentially, I'm handing over the camera and I'm going to give them something random each day to capture. I think it will be really neat to see the different things they come up with. And will help them get better with a camera as well! Here's one Demi snapped this evening!

My Happy List Tuesday

 photo ArtatHomeButton_zps18898da7.jpg

I'm full of happy right now. Okay, I guess I could never truly be FULL of happy, there's always room for more, technically- but I'm happy.

1. I have all my Instagram pics resized and sent for prints so I can finally start PL for 2013.

2. It shouldn't take me more than an hour to go through my non-Instagram pics to pick out and send off for prints as well!

3. Refer to 1 and 2. This is July people! Finally having this done has be so ecstatic!

4. We've had so much time with close friends, and family lately. It's been really nice, and is still going really.

5. Our All Star Team is playing in a Summer League that started tonight. They won both their games! 11-2, and then 14-6! So proud of these girls!

Make it Monday

My older sister has made a couple of these name pictures, to the point I just had to try making one for myself. They are just too cool, and totally personalized to any and every little detail. I mean, you literally start with a blank slate and do whatever you desire.

So I made one for one of my daughters' friend's birthday. It is a time consuming, and even more mind consuming project. My brain wouldn't stop putting it all together until I finally declared it was done! And I really like it!

Scrappy Saturday

It's been a long and busy day.

He wanted to stay up 30 more minutes, but only made it about 20! :) The girls and I are now watching the 7th Harry Potter movie. It's hard to find moments to watch it without little man being around. He's not quite ready for these yet. Maybe the 1st one, but definitely not the 7th!

Five Things Friday

This week has been great!

1. My oldest celebrated her 11th birthday yesterday!

2. Fireworks twice this week!

3. We spent a lot of time with some great friends!

4. We've done several crafts this week. :)

5. We are planning to get together with my side of the family Sunday. Hasn't happened yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

Forth of July

Today, we celebrate more than America's birthday in our house- my oldest baby turned 11 today. She is an absolute gift from God and I am thoroughly enjoying watching her as she grows and matures. Today, she chose fireworks again. (I'm pretty sure she's chosen to see fireworks twice every single year since she was old enough to get to choose!)
We parked and walked a beautiful trail to get there.
Lexi was super excited about the rock climbing wall!
Demi is usually to afraid of heights to try something like this, but she was all over it today. She walked up and said it didn't look so high and that was it. Without a second thought, she was in line and shortly after she was climbing!
TJ was worried about how to climb... He managed almost halfway, then just couldn't seem to find any more spots in reach that he was comfortable with. He was really happy he tried, and wants to again when he's a little bigger.
We met up with some friends and all watched the fireworks together. Lexi really enjoyed getting to watch the fireworks with her siblings as well as one of her bffs.
The ending was insanely bright!
